Time flies in watchmaking, especially for the relatively youthful Frederique Constant. At a mere 35 years old (a blip in the history of horlogerie), the timepiece experts at Frederique Constant (us. frederiqueconstant.com) celebrate over three decades of unleveled craftsmanship this year. With many more years ahead, Frederique Constant looks to the future and delights its collectors with the ultimate gift, the Classics Tourbillon Manufacture.

Frederique Constant made their 2023 debut at Watches and Wonders in Geneva, presenting their collection within the Palexpo halls for the first time. Using Swiss mechanics to craft a topnotch timepiece – featuring an 18K rose gold 39mm case and a regulating organ at 6 o’clock–there are only 150 pieces of this limited-edition wonder.

Arguably the most significant supplement to the piece is a touched-up tourbillon. Prioritizing accuracy in this new model, a silicon escapement wheel and anchor ensure the watch remains errorless in all weather conditions. It’s out with the old and in with the new: Replacing the “comma” design with a perfect circle, the new exterior radiates a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic.

The sun-ray dial, adorned with diamond-cut edge hour markers and hands, shines brighter than ever. In addition to the hours and minutes, a subtle detail reveals a hand above the tourbillon cage to mark off a 60-second indication.

The stunning minimalism allows the applique hour markers and hand-polished golden hands to glide over an anthracite gray sun-ray brushed dial. Complemented by a dark matte brown leather strap sporting a deployment clasp with Frederique Constant’s coat-of-arms, this futuristic piece is evidence of the manufacture’s commitment to craftsmanship and its future.
