Crafting five “out of this world” timepiece collections was a challenge Gucci (gucci.com) was apt to complete. Featuring new tourbillons, moon phase movements and a new perpetual calendar, Gucci’s High Watchmaking demonstrates the brand’s commitment to the craft by using iconic codes of the House, avant-garde artistry and exceptional stones.
Blasting off into 2023, the first collection–the G-Timeless Planetarium–draws inspiration from lunar activity. Four kaleidoscopic designs are set with a diamond-studded star, each spinning itself in nine seconds and orbiting clockwise around the dial in 90 seconds. The first is adorned with 12 Ethiopian opals complemented by a translucent blue background, while the second features an ethereal blend of pastel shades. The third blends contrasting red ruby hues, while the star-studded 4th piece is dazzled with stars that mimic the luminous explosion of light.
The G-Timeless Dancing Bees two-component collection uses 12 iconic bee motifs to praise life and nature. Fluttering and shimmering with wrist movement, the first piece features an intense turquoise dial to mimic space’s view of the oceans. The second piece captures grazing greens through a pistachio green opal dial complemented by Gucci’s exquisite stones.

Third in line is the G-Timeless Moonlight collection, using zodiac-inspired motifs to honor the beauty of the stars. Customizing to each wrist with the place, time and date of birth, this personal piece is ornate with six gemstones. Also customizable is the alligator strap, and a five-letter and character engravement, resembling the relationship between the planets and galaxy.
GUCCI 25H–the fourth and fierce collection–symbolizes strength, set with 60 diamonds on the dial’s floating bridges and 44 on the bezel. The GUCCI 25H Skeleton Tourbillon bursts with vibrancy, featuring orange, pink, purple and green accents. The GUCCI 25H’s upgraded caliber displays time, days, months, years and moon phases. Available in three models with gold and steel finishes, the piece’s caliber remains up-to-date until the year 2100.

Last but certainly not least, the new and improved Grip radiates a retro aesthetic with red jasper and chrysoprase hard stones. Set in 18kt pink gold with complementary alligator straps and the choice of brick red or mint green display discs, this refinement of the 1920s model is evidence of Gucci’s commitment to innovation.
Once in a blue moon, a brand creates a culturally-significant timepiece that will inspire collections to come–Gucci’s latest timepiece collection is evidence of this.
