Hamilton expands its repertoire with the new Jazzmaster Performer.
Keeping up with dress codes has never been more challenging. Now that we’re re-emerging into a more social society, our fashion choices are evolving into a manner of dress that evokes both quiet luxuries (think Lo Piano cashmere and minimalist looks from The Row) to full-on peacockery (Molly Godard’s tulle fantasies as worn by Harry Styles).
One way to pull these trends together is by finding a watch that works with any fashion trend or any occasion. To that end, we are drawn to the diversity of Hamilton’s new Jazzmaster Performer collection.

Hamilton, the 131-year-old watchmaker, has unveiled 11 new sport-style references ranging in size from 34 to 42 millimeters with a silhouette to suit every wrist. The new introductions are elevated with premium touches and contoured chronograph pushers shaped to look and act like crown protectors and fixed tachymeter steel bezels.
While sport chic is certainly having its day, powered in part by the demand for funky 1970s-era watches on the secondary market, the Jazzmaster Performers have an appeal that transcends nostalgia — touches such as a fixed tachymeter bezel and Super-LumiNova watch hands. These offer a more understated and minimalist appeal than their disco-era counterparts.

All are powered by the H-31 automatic chronograph movement with a 60-hour power reserve and a balance spring made from a nonmagnetic alloy, Nivachron, developed by the Swatch Group. The three-hander family comes in 38mm or 34mm sizes with a range of finishes: blue, black, or white Sunray, mother-of-pearl dials. They all feature stainless steel cases, although the one with the white dial has a rose gold PVD coating.

The chronographs come in 42mm steel cases. Our favorite of the four references has a steel case coated in luxe gold PVD with matching hands and hour markers on a white dial that’s as crisp and clean as a hand-tailored shirt.
And to make these timepieces even more versatile, Hamilton offers the option of racy perforated leather straps, matching the colors of sunburst blue or black dials, or integrated steel bracelets.
